What a baseball and softball weekend for the Solingen Alligators!

On Sunday, our softball team officially kicked off the season in partnership with the Hilden Wains – and with a real highlight: our ladies won both home games against the Ennepetal Raccoons in the best weather and in a great atmosphere!
The nervousness of some of the players was palpable – for three rookies it was their first ever league game. But they mastered their premiere with flying colors. Strong pitching, good hitting and great team chemistry made for an all-round successful start. The first game ended with a very close 12:11, the second was won 9:6. A perfect start to the season!

At the same time, our 1st men’s team visited Saarlouis Hornets on Saturday to continue honing their form in two test matches. Both games went to Solingen – but much more important were the teamwork, testing different line-ups and gaining match practice.
Special highlights: A wide home run by Dustin Hughes, a strong performance at bat by Lukas Kirchhoff (7 hits in 9 at-bats) and valuable contributions from pitchers such as Jan Effenberger, Max Michalk and Can Frieters. Even if the umpiring was still a little bumpy, we would like to express our thanks for their commitment and willingness to develop further.

The day in Saarlouis was rounded off in a very relaxed manner – with a freshly tapped Carlsberg and delicious pints of beer right on the pitch. Baseball heart, what more could you want?

We would like to thank our teams, all our supporters – and of course our loyal partners and sponsors. The 2025 season has begun – and we are looking forward to everything that is to come!
