First month in Germany Drucken

Well my first coaches corner as the Alligators head coach. I have been here in Solingen now for about a month and a half and so far things have been fantastic. And as the weather gets better things will keep getting better. Speaking of good weather we had our first 3 outside practices this past weekend, and there was much excitment getting out of the gym.

The guys really worked hard and looked great for the first time out. We swung the bat alot and the swings for the most part looked real good. I think we will have an excellent offensive team again this season.

 
David Hissey will join the Alligators Bundesliga Team Drucken

logo_alligators_baseball_260.jpgThe Solingen Alligators have announced that american David Hissey will joining the team in late April. Hissey who is currently finishing his college career at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. Hissey an Centerfielder-Shortstop is a 4 year starter for Emory who is also a 3 time team captain. In 2006 Hissey was the University Athletic Conferance player of the year and a member of its all academic team while leading his team to the NCAA playoffs.

 
Two Big Games Drucken

cc_of_08.jpg'Two big games', it's as simple as that.   We are on the dawn of the matchup between #1 and #2 in Paderborn, Sunday at noon, in Paderborn.

Solingen Alligators stand at number one, and the Paderborn Untouchables stand firmly in second place.

Our Alligators face its biggest challenge of the season as the two evenly matched teams square off in a doubleheader with strong post-season implications.

The only two losses of Paderborn's season came against us in early May.  Game 1 of the doubleheader in Solingen saw our Alligators fight back from a 4-run deficit, only to win it in the 10th inning.  Game two was a different story as we won with a larger number of runs.

 
Halfway Point of the Season...Almost Drucken

cc_of_08.jpgIt's the middle of May and we stand at top of the Bundesliga North standings.  It's still very early in the season and there are many questions yet to be answered about our team. 

This weekend we are set to return to action, after a week off from Bundesliga games, against the Hannover Regents in a double header on Sunday, May 18th at the Weyersberg Ballpark.  Game time is set for 1200hr.

This weekend marks the last weekend of Bundesliga teams that we have not played.  The Regents of Hannover versus our Alligators, in an important test for our team after a week off.
